About the Switcher PCB

Switcher is an open source PCB design by oresat, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 22.5 × 18 mm, with 12 components from 11 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the LTC3561A. By type, the board carries 5 capacitors, 4 resistors, 2 inductors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

Hardware for OreSat's SDR GPS receive and other SDR GPS projects

This is the repo for our OreSat GPS Card. For software, see the oresat-gps-software repo.

A SkyTraq Orion-B16 GNSS module, a GNSS receiver module meant for university CubeSat use. An Analog Devices MAX2771 SDR GNSS receiver IC that is read by the Octavo OSD335x-SM processor's PRU and then parsed using the GNSS-SDR project software.

TRL 6-7 ish. Flown, but not yet demonstrated to work in space.

Switcher: common questions

How big is the Switcher PCB?

The Switcher measures 22.5 × 18 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Switcher?

12 components, from 11 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Switcher design files?

From the oresat/oresat-gps-hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Switcher design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which oresat chose for the repository.
