Hardware for OreSat's SDR GPS receive and other SDR GPS projects

This is the repo for our OreSat GPS Card. For software, see the oresat-gps-software repo.

A SkyTraq Orion-B16 GNSS module, a GNSS receiver module meant for university CubeSat use. An Analog Devices MAX2771 SDR GNSS receiver IC that is read by the Octavo OSD335x-SM processor's PRU and then parsed using the GNSS-SDR project software.

TRL 6-7 ish. Flown, but not yet demonstrated to work in space.

Usb gps: common questions

How big is the Usb gps PCB?

The Usb gps measures 99.1 × 53.3 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Usb gps?

86 components, from 38 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Usb gps design files?

From the oresat/oresat-gps-hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Usb gps design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which oresat chose for the repository.
