About the Sh03 PCB

Sh03 is an open source ESP32 PCB design by penmoid, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 56 mm, with 14 components from 10 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 4 resistors, 3 connectors, 3 capacitors and 1 IC.

From the project

Replacement controller PCB for the Sovol SH03 filament dryer. KiCad sources and Rev-A fabrication files.

SH03 controller is an ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1 carrier board for the Sovol SH03 filament dryer. The board is a two-layer, 100 × 56 mm design. It carries nine back-side SMD references: J1, J2, R1-R4, and C1-C3. J3 and the DevKitC-1 headers are through-hole parts fitted by the builder.

This repository contains the KiCad source, custom footprints, schematic exports, fabrication files, renders, validation reports, and regeneration scripts. The current design is Rev-A.

Sh03: common questions

What microcontroller does the Sh03 use?

The Sh03 is built around the ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Sh03 PCB?

The Sh03 measures 100 × 56 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Sh03?

14 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Sh03 design files?

From the penmoid/sh03-pcb repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Sh03 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which penmoid chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Sh03 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
