About the PicoDAC PCB

PicoDAC is an open source PCB design by Person-0, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 35.1 × 58.3 mm, with 42 components from 16 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the CS43131-CNZR, PCA9306DCUR, SN74AXC4T245PWR, XTPS7A2018-XC and 74AHCT1G125GV. By type, the board carries 18 capacitors, 9 LEDs, 9 resistors, 5 ICs and 1 connector.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

A USB-C to 3.5mm HiFi mini DAC

The main PCB case also requires this 2.5X8 screw that will be used to attach the detachable part with the non-detachable part.

As for the case of the board - 2, since it really is just two directly connected USB-C plugs, the top and bottom part of the case will be glued together after seating the board-2 PCB inside it properly (after testing it).

All the design files are available in the CAD folder. Exported STEP files for 3d-printing are available in /CAD/exports.

PicoDAC: common questions

How big is the PicoDAC PCB?

The PicoDAC measures 35.1 × 58.3 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PicoDAC?

42 components, from 16 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PicoDAC design files?

From the Person-0/PicoDAC repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PicoDAC design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Person-0. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
