Cacophonator KiCad project

This repository contains the KiCad project of a try at recreating an instance of the cacophonator by Arthur Harrison.

- Using THT (Through-hole) components - Designed for JSL 166x116x70mm Box

- Added a potentiometer to control the output amplitude (volume) - Should be a logaritmic (log) potentiometer - Added DC Input jack with diodes for multiple, concurrent, power sources - Battery (9V) - DC IN (9 or 12V))

Cacophonator: common questions

How big is the Cacophonator PCB?

The Cacophonator measures 70 × 70 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Cacophonator?

43 components, from 22 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Cacophonator design files?

From the phastmike/cacophonator repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Cacophonator design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with phastmike. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
