About the My LED controller PCB

My LED controller is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Phil-CIA, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 50 × 75 mm, with 51 components from 32 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-DevKitM-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the SN74AHCT125PWR, AHT20_C2757850 and LED_STRIP_CONN. By type, the board carries 15 resistors, 13 diodes, 7 capacitors, 4 ICs, 4 connectors and 4 switches.

It belongs with the sensors and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

This is a LED Strip controller

This repo now supports two firmware paths: - custom firmware in src/main.cpp (serial-driven tests and demo) - official WLED firmware (Wi-Fi + WLED app control)

This repo now also supports two hardware targets: - breadboard target profile - pcb target profile

Each target has independent identity lock (port/chip/MAC) in scripts/flash-targets.json.

If expectedMac is empty for a target, guarded upload refuses to flash.

My LED controller: common questions

What microcontroller does the My LED controller use?

The My LED controller is built around the ESP32-DevKitM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the My LED controller PCB?

The My LED controller measures 50 × 75 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the My LED controller?

51 components, from 32 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the My LED controller design files?

From the Phil-CIA/LED-controller-ws28xx repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the My LED controller design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Phil-CIA. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the My LED controller without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
