About the AllSerial LIN PCB

AllSerial LIN is an open source PCB design by Phunkafizer, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 67.4 × 44.8 mm, with 13 components from 12 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MCP2003. By type, the board carries 4 diodes, 3 resistors, 2 crystals, 2 capacitors, 1 IC and 1 connector.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

Over the course of time I had to work with many different devices which had to be connected via a kind of serial interface. There are lots of different cheap USB-serial adapters available, but no adapter was including all features I needed in a single device. Every USB-serial adapter has in common the USB Controller. So I came up with the idea having a masterboard providing all the common features like USB interface, isolation and diagnostic elements. The most used interfaces (RS232, RS485, TTL UART, TTY current…
