Over the course of time I had to work with many different devices which had to be connected via a kind of serial interface. There are lots of different cheap USB-serial adapters available, but no adapter was including all features I needed in a single device. Every USB-serial adapter has in common the USB Controller. So I came up with the idea having a masterboard providing all the common features like USB interface, isolation and diagnostic elements. The most used interfaces (RS232, RS485, TTL UART, TTY current…

WiFiMaster: common questions
What microcontroller does the WiFiMaster use?
The WiFiMaster is built around the ESP32-S3-MINI-1, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the WiFiMaster PCB?
The WiFiMaster measures 67.4 × 54.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the WiFiMaster?
63 components, from 37 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the WiFiMaster design files?
From the Phunkafizer/AllSerial repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the WiFiMaster design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Phunkafizer chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the WiFiMaster without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
