About the Project PCB

Project is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by PinkFluffyUnic0rn, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 43 × 40.1 mm, with 65 components from 14 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Comment, from the ESP8266 family. By type, the board carries 28 capacitors, 20 resistors, 7 ICs, 4 LEDs and 2 inductors.

It belongs with the robotics & motion, rf & radio and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

Project: common questions

What microcontroller does the Project use?

The Project is built around the Comment, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the Project PCB?

The Project measures 43 × 40.1 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Project?

65 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Project design files?

From the PinkFluffyUnic0rn/stm32flight repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Project design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which PinkFluffyUnic0rn chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Project without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
