PCB for OpenDTU in Cable Branchbox, LineSupply w. Fuses, RS485/RS232-Olimex, Relais, DS2485 OneWire, I2C-Header...

Mechanically fits into quite compact HNS 989861-H01 wiring box (form closure only). If not all features are used, even edged Wieland-Socket should fit. LEDs need LightGuides: no. position-drawing and not included in material list

Tradeoff: Very limited space, copyrighted code for ds2485

* WESP32-WROOM-based (internal or external antenna)

5x20 Fuseholder (Supply) Varistor * HiLink Supplymodule f.e. 230V->3.3V

ESP-Solar OpenDTU: common questions

What microcontroller does the ESP-Solar OpenDTU use?

The ESP-Solar OpenDTU is built around the ESP-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the ESP-Solar OpenDTU PCB?

The ESP-Solar OpenDTU measures 76 × 72.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ESP-Solar OpenDTU?

43 components, from 25 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ESP-Solar OpenDTU design files?

From the plewka/ESP-Solar_OpenDTU repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ESP-Solar OpenDTU design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which plewka chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the ESP-Solar OpenDTU without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
