About the Apple2Card PCB
Apple2Card is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by profdc9, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 160 × 78.2 mm, with 77 components from 31 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ATmega328P-P, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the 74HCT32, 74HCT00, 82C55A, Slot1 and Slot2. By type, the board carries 28 resistors, 12 capacitors, 11 diodes, 10 jumpers, 7 ICs and 6 connectors.
From the project
Apple II Peripheral Card that Interfaces to a ATMEGA328P for SD card storage
This is a simple card that provides two SD cards as mass storage devices to ProDOS as well as will provide networking using a Wiznet W5500. A ATMEGA328P programmed using the Arduino development environment is interfaced to the Apple II bus using a 82C55 peripheral interface. The design uses only five commonly available integrated circuits, the 74HCT08 AND gate, 74HCT32 OR gate, 82C55A peripheral interface, a 28C256 flash memory chip, and a ATMEGA328P microcontroller, and so should be reasonably future-proofed as much as any design for a 40 year old computer can be.

Apple2Card: common questions
What microcontroller does the Apple2Card use?
The Apple2Card is built around the ATmega328P-P, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the Apple2Card PCB?
The Apple2Card measures 160 × 78.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Apple2Card?
77 components, from 31 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Apple2Card design files?
From the profdc9/Apple2Card repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Apple2Card design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with profdc9. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Apple2Card without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
