About the Overnumpad controller 1xb PCB

Overnumpad controller 1xb is an open source STM32 PCB design by purdeaandrei, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 69.6 × 37.3 mm, with 65 components from 29 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F446RETX, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3.3, TPS2553DBVR, USBLC6-2SC6 and 24LC64. By type, the board carries 20 capacitors, 18 resistors, 6 diodes, 5 ICs, 5 connectors and 3 transistors.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

An open source replacement keyboard controller for 4th generation IBM/Lexmark keyboards, and for some Unicomp keyboards

This is a replacement keyboard controller, for 4th generation IBM/Lexmark Model M keyboards, and Unicomp keyboards that use the same mounting style over the numpad.

Only some of the listed supported keyboards has been tested at the time of release. Some keyboards may require additional software work for support. This list may change in the future.

* IBM/Lexmark 4th generation Model M keyboards See here for more detail on IBM Model M keyboard generations. The easiest way to identify IBM/Lexmark keyboards supported by this controller is to look at the lock lights led alignment. Top-aligned…

Overnumpad controller 1xb: common questions

What microcontroller does the Overnumpad controller 1xb use?

The Overnumpad controller 1xb is built around the STM32F446RETX, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Overnumpad controller 1xb PCB?

The Overnumpad controller 1xb measures 69.6 × 37.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Overnumpad controller 1xb?

65 components, from 29 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Overnumpad controller 1xb design files?

From the purdeaandrei/overnumpad_controller_1xb repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Overnumpad controller 1xb design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which purdeaandrei chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Overnumpad controller 1xb without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
