My Macropad with Hackclub

Welcome to my Macropad project! This repository contains all the design files for the case, the PCB, and the firmware necessary to build this custom keypad.

This project is a fully custom-designed macropad built around the Seeed XIAO RP2040 microcontroller. Designed as part of the Hack Club submission, the goal was to create a functional, budget-friendly input device.

My Macropad: common questions

What microcontroller does the My Macropad use?

The My Macropad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the My Macropad PCB?

The My Macropad measures 61.9 × 64.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the My Macropad?

14 components, from 4 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the My Macropad design files?

From the RedSystems586/My_Macropad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the My Macropad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with RedSystems586. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the My Macropad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
