About the Auto pool PCB

Auto pool is an open source ESP32 PCB design by rletendu, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 110.5 × 96.5 mm, with 60 components from 40 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESPMINI32, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the ADS1115_module, DHT11, RTC_DS3231_MODULE and AMS1117-3.3. By type, the board carries 18 connectors, 17 capacitors, 12 resistors, 5 ICs, 4 diodes and 2 jumpers.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and sensors designs in this gallery.

ESP32 swimming-pool controller with pH / ORP / filter automation, Nextion touch UI, web dashboard, MQTT, and native Home Assistant autodiscovery.

AutoPool runs unattended on the side of the pool: it schedules the filter pump, doses chlorine on ORP, holds pH inside a target band by injecting acid (and optionally base) through peristaltic pumps, watches tank levels, and exposes everything over a 5″ touch panel, a web UI, and MQTT.

Auto pool: common questions

What microcontroller does the Auto pool use?

The Auto pool is built around the ESPMINI32, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Auto pool PCB?

The Auto pool measures 110.5 × 96.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Auto pool?

60 components, from 40 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Auto pool design files?

From the rletendu/auto_pool repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Auto pool design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with rletendu. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Auto pool without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
