About the Hushlog PCB

Hushlog is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by rudy1904, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 80 × 60 mm, with 67 components from 27 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the W25Q128JVS, AP2112K-3.3, ADS1220IPW and TPS7A2033PDBV. By type, the board carries 30 capacitors, 20 resistors, 8 connectors, 5 ICs, 2 switches and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

-channel, 24-bit data logger for small, slow signals: thermocouples, strain gauges, photodiodes and RTDs.

A 4-channel, 24-bit data logger for small, slow signals — thermocouples, strain gauges, photodiodes, RTDs.

Most DIY loggers read tiny voltages with the microcontroller's built-in ADC, which is fine until the signal is small, at which point it's mostly noise. Hushlog uses a real 24-bit precision ADC (the TI ADS1220) with 4 input channels, read by a bare RP2040, logged to a microSD card, with a small OLED for live readings — all on a custom 2-layer board in a 3D-printed enclosure.

Hushlog: common questions

What microcontroller does the Hushlog use?

The Hushlog is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Hushlog PCB?

The Hushlog measures 80 × 60 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Hushlog?

67 components, from 27 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Hushlog design files?

From the rudy1904/hushlog repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Hushlog design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with rudy1904. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Hushlog without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
