About the CPDEL PCB

CPDEL is an open source ESP32 PCB design by samo4, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 70 × 55 mm, with 56 components from 31 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S2-WROOM-I, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the PSM712-LF-T7, TSR_1-2433, MAX14783ExS, L78L05_SOT89 and SN65HVD230. By type, the board carries 22 resistors, 10 capacitors, 7 connectors, 6 ICs, 4 jumpers and 3 transistors.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

CPDEL: common questions

What microcontroller does the CPDEL use?

The CPDEL is built around the ESP32-S2-WROOM-I, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the CPDEL PCB?

The CPDEL measures 70 × 55 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the CPDEL?

56 components, from 31 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the CPDEL design files?

From the samo4/CPDEL repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the CPDEL design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with samo4. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the CPDEL without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
