Turntable speedbox implementation for the MagicQuartz firmware

This repository contains an open source hardware design of a turntable speedbox that is capable of running the MagicQuartz firmware. The hardware design consists of two parts:

An OpenSCAD model that can be used for generating a 3D-printable enclosure. A KiCad design for the mainboard, comprising schematic and PCB.

The speedbox implements an AC power inverter based on a class-D audio amplifier and a toroidal transformer to step-up the voltage. The speed of the record player is controlled by changing the generated AC frequency. This enables electronic switching between the standard record…
