From the project

Multifunction Eurorack Module

The Bonkulator is a Eurorack module that fits into a 3U x 14HP slot. It features 8 programmable outputs and 6 programmable inputs. The front-panel user controls consist of a 128×64 pixel 2-color OLED display, a rotary encoder for adjusting parameters and a button for each trigger and output.

These repos contain the materials needed to construct the Bonkulator main board and the front panel. The files are for KiCAD 6.0. Go to the Greenlight Kicad repo to get the needed libraries. The gerber files work with JLCPC and will most likely work with other board manufacturers.

The Bonkulator: common questions

What microcontroller does the The Bonkulator use?

The The Bonkulator is built around the C2932676, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the The Bonkulator PCB?

The The Bonkulator measures 70.8 × 110 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 4.69 mm thick.

How many components are on the The Bonkulator?

255 components, from 46 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the The Bonkulator design files?

From the shannon-greenlight/bonkulator repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the The Bonkulator design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which shannon-greenlight chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the The Bonkulator without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
