IGNIS (Latin for "FIRE") is an open-source thrust vector control system designed for model rocketry enthusiasts, students, and researchers. It uses an STM32F411 flight computer, MPU6500 IMU, MS5611 barometer, and NEO-6M GPS to actively steer a rocket's engine nozzle, keeping it stable during flight.

Data Logger: common questions

What microcontroller does the Data Logger use?

The Data Logger is built around the ATMEGA328P-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Data Logger PCB?

The Data Logger measures 50.8 × 40.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Data Logger?

25 components, from 16 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Data Logger design files?

From the Shourya-x/Project-ignis repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Data Logger design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Shourya-x. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Data Logger without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
