Rotation speed detector

About the Rotation speed detector PCB

Rotation speed detector is an open source PCB design by Shrikrishna26, published on GitHub. It is a board, with 25 components from 14 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the LM393, 4040, 4518, ICM7555xB and 4511. By type, the board carries 7 ICs, 6 resistors, 5 battery holders, 3 capacitors, 2 LEDs and 1 diode.

It belongs with the displays & leds and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

Digital rotational speed detector using IR sensor, 555 timer, CD4040, CD4518 and CD4511 with 7-segment display output

The design demonstrates fundamental concepts of signal conditioning, digital counting, timing circuits, and display decoding without the use of microcontrollers.

The system works by converting mechanical rotation into electrical pulses and then processing them digitally.

1. IR Detection - A rotating disc interrupts or reflects IR light. - The IR sensor generates voltage pulses.
