About the Wireless-Macropad PCB

Wireless-Macropad is an open source ESP32 PCB design by shubhamp2007, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 76.2 × 105.2 mm, with 35 components from 5 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-DEVKIT_1, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 16 switches, 16 diodes, 2 connectors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the iot & wireless, keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

An ESP32 based Wireless Macropad with 16 Keys.

An ESP32 Devkit powered Wireless Macropad featuring 16 keys in a 4x4 matrix and 0.91 inch SSD1306 Display with 3.7 V Battery for powering the ESP32.

I have already made a couple of Macropads but they were all wired. There were a few problems I faced with them particularly when using with my laptop on my study table, the keyboard, mouse and charging cables are already a mess and then adding Macropad cable, I get fed up, so I made this to replace my wired Macropad.

Wireless-Macropad: common questions

What microcontroller does the Wireless-Macropad use?

The Wireless-Macropad is built around the ESP32-DEVKIT_1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Wireless-Macropad PCB?

The Wireless-Macropad measures 76.2 × 105.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Wireless-Macropad?

35 components, from 5 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Wireless-Macropad design files?

From the shubhamp2007/Wireless-Macropad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Wireless-Macropad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with shubhamp2007. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Wireless-Macropad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
