About the RC1802 CPU PCB
RC1802 CPU is an open source PCB design by tebl, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 99.1 × 99.1 mm, with 54 components from 26 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the 74LS04, CDP1802, 74LS240, 74LS373 and SLOT-1. By type, the board carries 15 resistors, 9 connectors, 9 diodes, 8 jumpers, 6 ICs and 6 capacitors.
It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.
From the project
With the RC6502-project for making an Apple 1 replica done I wanted to do something different, so I started designing a simple version of the RCA 1802-based Cosmac ELF instead.
Of the two main modules needed for the RC1802 Cosmac ELF computer, this is the main board that includes the RCA 1802 processor along with any RAM and ROM you want. In other words this is the brains of the whole operation! In theory this board by itself should be able to function by itself though the validity of this claim is still lacking some actual testing.
