From the project

Research into quantisation effects in MEMS gyroscopes using custom STM32 hardware.

Custom STM32F723 hardware, firmware and analysis for measuring output-register quantisation noise in MEMS rate gyroscopes. Specifically gyroscopes that report an angular-rate register rather than an integrated angle increment.

This is a pre-publication research project. The preprint is not yet released. the results, figures and numbers in this repository are working values and are subject to change. Nothing here has been peer-reviewed. Preliminary Datasets are available on Zenodo

GMWM Analysis Board: common questions

What microcontroller does the GMWM Analysis Board use?

The GMWM Analysis Board is built around the STM32F723ZET6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the GMWM Analysis Board?

The GMWM Analysis Board measures 68.8 × 68.6 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the GMWM Analysis Board?

152 components, from 46 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the GMWM Analysis Board design files?

From the thejamesrhodes/IMU-Quantisation-research-project repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the GMWM Analysis Board design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which thejamesrhodes chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the GMWM Analysis Board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
