From the project

Analog guitar-audio front-end filter — KiCad hardware (CC BY 4.0)

An analog signal-conditioning front-end that brings an electric-guitar signal into the ADC range of any general-purpose microcontroller — an Arduino Nano, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi Pico — without needing a dedicated audio MCU.

A raw electric-guitar signal is only a few millivolts — far below what an 8- or even 16-bit ADC can resolve. Sampled directly, the musical information is lost in the noise floor. This board conditions the signal on both ends of the useful band so it lands in a range the microcontroller's ADC can sample with real resolution.
