About the IceScreamer PCB

IceScreamer is an open source PCB design by UC3Music, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 60 × 85 mm, with 87 components from 41 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the RC4558. By type, the board carries 36 resistors, 26 capacitors, 8 diodes, 7 transistors, 3 connectors and 2 switches.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

From the project

A widely known overdrive pedal

This project has a very similar electronics to Ibanez TS-808 TubeScreamer. Moreover this board let you choose among several modifications of the original design, and implement it easily. The most important modification is the ability to build a true bypass or buffered bypass pedal. Also there will be plenty of room for the most usual mods out there:

- Easier to provide "more gain" - Easy to replace Op-Amp - Easy to swap diodes (different distortion sounds) - Easy to swap between flavors TS5, TS10 and TS808

IceScreamer: common questions

How big is the IceScreamer PCB?

The IceScreamer measures 60 × 85 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the IceScreamer?

87 components, from 41 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the IceScreamer design files?

From the UC3Music/IceScreamer repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the IceScreamer design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with UC3Music. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
