About the Top PCB

Top is an open source PCB design by valerionew, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 75.4 × 75.4 mm, with 16 components from 1 distinct parts.

It belongs with the sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

53xLIDAR is a solid state, 16 points lidar, based on ST's VL53L1x sensors

The sensors are operated by an STM32F411RE on two separate I2C buses, one for sensor 1-8, the other for 9-16. The XSHUTs are shared between two sensors on the two different I2C buses, while the sensors interrupts are separate for each sensor. For future use, there is an LSM9DS1, 9 DOF inertial sensor onboard.

The lidar outputs the data via a virtual com port from the native Micro-USB, or via a 3.3V UART on a 4 pin JST-PH connector. Power (5V 100mA) is provided through the USB or via the 4 pin uart connector.

Top: common questions

How big is the Top PCB?

The Top measures 75.4 × 75.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Top?

16 components, from 1 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Top design files?

From the valerionew/53xLIDAR repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Top design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with valerionew. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
