About the Eve pi PCB

Eve pi is an open source PCB design by vishhvaan, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 103.5 × 90.6 mm, with 102 components from 30 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the PCA9685PW, ADS1115IDGSR, LM324DR, TLV4314IPWR and MCP1501-10E/SN. By type, the board carries 32 resistors, 23 diodes, 21 capacitors, 12 transistors, 7 ICs and 4 inductors.

From the project

The EVolutionary biorEactor (EVE)

The EVE is an open framework for an automated continuous culture system.

- Easy to use for programmers and non-programmers - Cheap - Replicate functionality of a morbidostat/chemostat/turbidostat - Versatile & easily modifiable for different purposes

This device is meant to be used for the study of population dynamics and evolution.

1. Download and flash the [Raspbian] Buster OS on an SD card. 2. Insert the SD Card into the Pi and connect the Pi to a display, keyboard, local area network, and power. 3. Note the IP address of the device with the command:

Eve pi: common questions

How big is the Eve pi PCB?

The Eve pi measures 103.5 × 90.6 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Eve pi?

102 components, from 30 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Eve pi design files?

From the vishhvaan/eve-pi repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Eve pi design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which vishhvaan chose for the repository.
