About the Beonos PCB
Beonos is an open source ESP32 PCB design by wr, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 25.2 × 64.4 mm, with 16 components from 11 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the SEEED STUDIO XIAO ESP32C6, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the LTV-356T. By type, the board carries 6 resistors, 4 capacitors, 3 ICs and 2 connectors.
It belongs with the iot & wireless, retro computing and keyboards designs in this gallery.
From the project
Control your vintage Bang & Olufsen Beogram turntable from Home Assistant or Sonos.
You can order your own Beonos Controller from PCBway. You can use my referral code to get $5 off your order, if you want. In my experience they're usually pretty fast and high quality, especially for the price.
A small ESP32-C6-powered custom PCB that splices into a Beogram's keyboard cable, reads what the turntable is doing, and sends play/pause/stop commands. The result is a 'smart' vintage turntable that behaves like a digital Sonos source.

Beonos: common questions
What microcontroller does the Beonos use?
The Beonos is built around the SEEED STUDIO XIAO ESP32C6, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Beonos PCB?
The Beonos measures 25.2 × 64.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Beonos?
16 components, from 11 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Beonos design files?
From the wr/beonos repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Beonos design in my own project?
It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.
Can I test firmware for the Beonos without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
