About the Spy of universe PCB
Spy of universe is an open source ESP32 PCB design by yasmeenpapppy0-prog, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 25.7 × 17.5 mm, with 2 components from 2 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-32E, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 1 IC and 1 diode.
It belongs with the rf & radio and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

Hey! This is my project for the Hack Club Stardance challenge. I built a custom PCB that acts as a live space satellite tracker. When the International Space Station or another satellite flies directly over my house, the board jumps online and flashes a smart LED to let me know!

The Antenna Zone Disaster: In my first design, I ran copper circuit traces right through the crosshatched region underneath the ESP32 antenna. I didn't know this would completely ruin the Wi-Fi signal! I had to go back, clear the traces out, and leave the keep-out zone completely blank so my board can actually…

Spy of universe: common questions
What microcontroller does the Spy of universe use?
The Spy of universe is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32E, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Spy of universe PCB?
The Spy of universe measures 25.7 × 17.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Spy of universe?
2 components, from 2 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Spy of universe design files?
From the yasmeenpapppy0-prog/spy-of-universe repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Spy of universe design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with yasmeenpapppy0-prog. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Spy of universe without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
