About the BreadPower PCB

BreadPower is an open source ESP32 PCB design by zeankundev, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 59 × 25 mm, with 19 components from 16 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3R8, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the TP4057. By type, the board carries 11 connectors, 3 capacitors, 2 ICs, 2 diodes and 1 resistor.

It belongs with the power & battery and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

A collection and an archive of KiCad projects I made. Contains projects from 2023 - 2024.

- Pico2040 and Pico2350 series. These are my self-designed boards oriented mostly around ARM microcontrollers. especially the RP2040 and the RP2350 - LiPower, BreadPower and LCDRucksack. Those are two board categories that I like to classify them as being "useless". LiPower being the overengineered version of the TP4056 charger, BreadPower being the most generic breadboard power supply. Of course, this was designed before I even know USB-C PD. LCDRucksack is just literally a clone of the LCD backpacks out there, but with castellated holes. - ProyekOPSI2023 was the board I designed for the…

BreadPower: common questions

What microcontroller does the BreadPower use?

The BreadPower is built around the ESP32-S3R8, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the BreadPower PCB?

The BreadPower measures 59 × 25 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the BreadPower?

19 components, from 16 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the BreadPower design files?

From the zeankundev/boards repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the BreadPower design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with zeankundev. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the BreadPower without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
