- Uses CH217 as the power switch. - Can be used with CherryMX compatible switches or Kailh Choc Switches commonly used in custom keyboards, allowing for very light key presses. - Pressing the switch can turn off the power. Additionally, holding down the switch can maintain the power-off state. - Functions as a resettable fuse for overcurrent protection of 2A or higher. Overcurrent is indicated by LED flashing. - Used WCH CH32V003J4M6 as the microcontroller.…

Power Switch Adapter: common questions

What microcontroller does the Power Switch Adapter use?

The Power Switch Adapter is built around the CH32V003J4M6, from the RISC-V family.

How big is the Power Switch Adapter PCB?

The Power Switch Adapter measures 20.3 × 33.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 0.8 mm thick.

How many components are on the Power Switch Adapter?

11 components, from 11 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Power Switch Adapter design files?

From the 74th/74th-oshw-projects repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Power Switch Adapter design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which 74th chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Power Switch Adapter without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RISC-V firmware against it before you order a PCB.
