About the Duet switch tester PCB

Duet switch tester is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by ai03-2725, published on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 379.4 × 117.5 mm, with 253 components from 20 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the ZD25Q80BNIGR, PRTR5V0U2X and AP7313-33SRG-7. By type, the board carries 109 diodes, 108 relays, 17 capacitors, 10 resistors, 4 ICs and 2 switches.

It belongs with the displays & leds and keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

Switch tester designed for two of each switch for display and testability

A switch tester intended for use at events and storefronts. Displays two of each switch - one with a keycap for testing the keyfeel, and another without a keycap to show off the visuals. Can be assembled with a functioning PCB to pair the tester to a kiosk device for additional information display purposes.

Necessary if planning to pair the device to a webapp or similar: - 1x PCB (Optional if you're not looking to pair the tester to a device) - Optional hotswap standoffs for anchoring the PCB to the plate - 10x M2x3.5 Spacers - 20x M2x3 wafer-head screws

Duet switch tester: common questions

What microcontroller does the Duet switch tester use?

The Duet switch tester is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Duet switch tester PCB?

The Duet switch tester measures 379.4 × 117.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Duet switch tester?

253 components, from 20 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Duet switch tester design files?

From the ai03-2725/duet-switch-tester repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Duet switch tester design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its AGPL-3.0 license, which ai03-2725 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Duet switch tester without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
