About the Konoha PCB

Konoha is an open source PCB design by aisuneko, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 80 × 80 mm, with 97 components from 31 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the CH634X, HD3SS3220IRNHR, TPD4E02B04DQA, WS3202E61-6/TR and CH213K. By type, the board carries 39 capacitors, 26 ICs, 22 resistors, 6 connectors, 2 diodes and 1 crystal.

From the project

4-port USB3.0 pure Type-C Hub powered by CH634X

4-port pure Type-C USB3.0 hub, based on WCH CH634X.

We have: - All 4 ports in Type-C - max. approx. USB3.2Gen1 transfer rate (~500MB/s); compatible with USB2.0 - Dedicated charging port - Adequate ESD protection - A symmetrical look - One-sided components for ease of assembly

Name is inspired by Akisato Konoha from 16-bit Sensation.

Aside from my original idea of forcefully converting the three USB-A downstream ports provided by the CH634X to Type-C, it is largely based on CH634X's reference design with modifications.

Konoha: common questions

How big is the Konoha PCB?

The Konoha measures 80 × 80 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.584132 mm thick.

How many components are on the Konoha?

97 components, from 31 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Konoha design files?

From the aisuneko/konoha repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Konoha design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which aisuneko chose for the repository.
