About the Usb to uart converter PCB
Usb to uart converter is an open source PCB design by ajkumar-1907, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 31 × 15 mm, with 19 components from 9 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the CP2102N-Axx-xQFN28. By type, the board carries 7 resistors, 5 diodes, 4 capacitors, 2 connectors and 1 IC.
It belongs with the usb & debug tools and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.
From the project
Open-source library of power electronics converter topologies — KiCad schematics, working principles, use cases, and design notes for DC-DC, AC-DC, DC-AC, and AC-AC converters. Free to use, modify, and build on.
A compact USB-C to serial (UART) adapter based on the Silicon Labs CP2102N. It lets a PC talk to microcontrollers and modules over TX/RX, and has a DTR-driven RST pin for Arduino-style auto-reset during upload.
Most microcontrollers (ESP32, ESP8266, AVR, STM32) and many modules (GPS, GSM, Bluetooth) talk over a UART, but modern PCs only have USB. This board bridges the two. The CP2102N enumerates as a virtual COM port on the PC and converts USB packets to and from TX/RX serial data. It also exposes the modem-control line DTR, which is used to reset the target automatically.
