About the P11 PCB

P11 is an open source ESP32 PCB design by akashihi, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 48 × 30 mm, with 12 components from 8 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-C3-SuperMini, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the DS18B20. By type, the board carries 5 resistors, 2 ICs, 2 transistors, 1 connector, 1 diode and 1 capacitor.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and sensors designs in this gallery.

ESPHome interface for Panasonic air conditioners and heat pumps (CN-CNT)

A small open-hardware board that connects a Panasonic air conditioner or air-to-air heat pump to Home Assistant through the indoor unit's CN-CNT service port. It runs ESPHome on an ESP32-C3 Super Mini with the panasonicac` component. Everything stays local: no Panasonic cloud and no Comfort Cloud adapter (CZ-TACG1).

This design is based on the Ingenious Makers ESPHome Panasonic Climate Interface. Compared with the original, it:

P11: common questions

What microcontroller does the P11 use?

The P11 is built around the ESP32-C3-SuperMini, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the P11 PCB?

The P11 measures 48 × 30 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the P11?

12 components, from 8 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the P11 design files?

From the akashihi/P11 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the P11 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which akashihi chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the P11 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
