From the project

Reusable four-layer nRF52840 wireless SoM with BLE, USB-C, LiPo charging, buck-boost power management, RF antenna integration, and manufacturing-ready outputs.

A reusable four-layer wireless System-on-Module based on the Nordic nRF52840-QFAA, designed for integration into future carrier boards. The electrical design and PCB layout exist as a mature prototype candidate, but the board has not yet been fabricated or physically validated.

Keyboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Keyboard use?

The Keyboard is built around the NRF52840-QFAA-F-R7, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the Keyboard PCB?

The Keyboard measures 29.5 × 36.1 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.0192 mm thick.

How many components are on the Keyboard?

67 components, from 47 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Keyboard design files?

From the anhenaobe/nrf52840-modular-wireless-som repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Keyboard design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which anhenaobe chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Keyboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
