About the Dynamic-Project-Display-Module

Dynamic-Project-Display-Module is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Apfelholz, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 157.5 × 82.4 mm, with 65 components from 10 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the MCP23017_SO. By type, the board carries 39 diodes, 16 switches, 5 resistors, 2 ICs, 2 connectors and 1 LED.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

A personal microboard that displays information about my PC and home server. It also includes several display options that can show data from tests and other parts of the current project. Everything is semi-modular so it can be adapted to whatever is needed at the moment.

 ## Hi I'm a young student from Germany who loves to program and also builds in the physical world from time to time. This project is the first time I ever worked on PCB design and produced a (serious) CAD model. When I found out about Blueprint I had already built an Arduino-based…

Dynamic-Project-Display-Module: common questions

What microcontroller does the Dynamic-Project-Display-Module use?

The Dynamic-Project-Display-Module is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Dynamic-Project-Display-Module?

The Dynamic-Project-Display-Module measures 157.5 × 82.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Dynamic-Project-Display-Module?

65 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Dynamic-Project-Display-Module design files?

From the Apfelholz/Dynamic-Project-Display-Module repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Dynamic-Project-Display-Module design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Apfelholz. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Dynamic-Project-Display-Module without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
