About the WiTooth PCB

WiTooth is an open source ESP32 PCB design by automote, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 67 × 25.8 mm, with 46 components from 27 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP-32_WROOM32_Rectangle, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3V3 and CP2102. By type, the board carries 16 resistors, 14 capacitors, 5 diodes, 3 ICs, 3 switches and 2 transistors.

It belongs with the iot & wireless, dev boards & breakouts and usb & debug tools designs in this gallery, and the repository also holds 1 earlier revision of it.

WiTooth: common questions

What microcontroller does the WiTooth use?

The WiTooth is built around the ESP-32_WROOM32_Rectangle, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the WiTooth PCB?

The WiTooth measures 67 × 25.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 2 mm thick.

How many components are on the WiTooth?

46 components, from 27 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the WiTooth design files?

From the automote/WiTooth repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the WiTooth design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which automote chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the WiTooth without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
