About the Tamagotchi PCB
Tamagotchi is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Ayush09S, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 74.4 × 97.8 mm, with 9 components from 6 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the XIAO-ESP32-C3-DIP-SMD, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the HS96L03W2C03. By type, the board carries 5 switches, 2 ICs and 1 battery holder.
It belongs with the displays & leds and power & battery designs in this gallery.
From the project
A small digital pet as a physical device remake! It features an LDR that can detect light changes, four buttons, and a buzzer. It also has an OLED display!
2. Print the models - Print the Casing, spacers and battery holder lid with the 3D Files provided on a 3D Printer (Note, the casing top, casing bottom, spacers and battery holder lid should all be printed seperately) OR - Buy the Casing printed from a printing service
3. Put it together - Put a bought or owned LiPo Battery and connect it to the bottom of the pcb, and place it into the allocated space in the casing - Use M3 Screws and nuts (buy or use owned ones) to screw the casing and PCB together

Tamagotchi: common questions
What microcontroller does the Tamagotchi use?
The Tamagotchi is built around the XIAO-ESP32-C3-DIP-SMD, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Tamagotchi PCB?
The Tamagotchi measures 74.4 × 97.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Tamagotchi?
9 components, from 6 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Tamagotchi design files?
From the Ayush09S/Tamagotchi repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Tamagotchi design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Ayush09S chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Tamagotchi without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
