About the UCB board

UCB board is an open source STM32 PCB design by bartkepl, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 56.8 × 100 mm, with 148 components from 42 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32H563VIT6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the SN65HVD75DR, W5500, LM4040DBZ-3, USBLC6-2SC6 and FM24C64B. By type, the board carries 60 capacitors, 35 diodes, 33 resistors, 8 ICs, 6 inductors and 4 fuses.

From the project

Control board for testing concepts with SCPI, UART, USB, RS485 and ETHERNET in pseudo 3U eurocard format

- Schematic and PCB layout done (4-layer, 56.8 × 100 mm), production files generated. - Design review completed; DRC/ERC clean (remaining items reviewed and excluded as by-design). - W5500 clock is sourced from the MCU (MCO1) by default — R80 fitted, R23 (Si5351C CLK0) DNP. - Firmware: STM32CubeMX skeleton only.

UCB board: common questions

What microcontroller does the UCB board use?

The UCB board is built around the STM32H563VIT6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the UCB board?

The UCB board measures 56.8 × 100 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.5862 mm thick.

How many components are on the UCB board?

148 components, from 42 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the UCB board design files?

From the bartkepl/UCB_board repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the UCB board design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which bartkepl chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the UCB board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
