TIM-011 B Replica Board

ATMega328 based PS/2 Keyboard Adapter. A daugherboard that will fit within the mainboard footprint instead of the traditional 5 pin DIN ASCII keyboard socket. This includes the i2c connector for the TIMI2CLEDPanel board which provides the LEDs.

This fits instead of the external RS232 functionality of the original keyboard and connector (serial port RS232 remains). On the mainboard, do not fit the MAX232 at J9, the 5 pin DIN socket J3 and the charge caps C58-C61, fitting the 4 pin header J5 instead. Standoffs will needed to be mounted to secure the mini keyboard board and the pin length of…

TIMPS2KeyMini: common questions

What microcontroller does the TIMPS2KeyMini use?

The TIMPS2KeyMini is built around the ATMEGA328, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the TIMPS2KeyMini PCB?

The TIMPS2KeyMini measures 27.5 × 64.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the TIMPS2KeyMini?

17 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the TIMPS2KeyMini design files?

From the Board-Folk/TIM011B repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the TIMPS2KeyMini design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Board-Folk. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the TIMPS2KeyMini without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
