About the TIMPS2Key PCB

TIMPS2Key is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Board-Folk, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 90.6 × 32.2 mm, with 30 components from 22 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA328, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the MAX232 and LM7805_TO220. By type, the board carries 10 capacitors, 8 resistors, 5 connectors, 3 ICs, 1 transistor and 1 crystal.

From the project

TIM-011 B Replica Board

ATMega/Arduino based PS/2 Keyboard Adapter. Will soon be adding the daughter board for v1.2 or later main boards which will allow fitting within the original board footprint instead of the related serial circuitry and DIN socket.

v0 Prototype / Development board using Arduino Nano and a MAX232.

v1 Final Arduino Nano Version. Now includes sound and i2c output for LED panel.

TIMPS2Key: common questions

What microcontroller does the TIMPS2Key use?

The TIMPS2Key is built around the ATMEGA328, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the TIMPS2Key PCB?

The TIMPS2Key measures 90.6 × 32.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the TIMPS2Key?

30 components, from 22 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the TIMPS2Key design files?

From the Board-Folk/TIM011B repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the TIMPS2Key design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Board-Folk. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the TIMPS2Key without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
