About the PCB

PCB is an open source PCB design by bsce26023, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 110 × 100 mm, with 18 components from 10 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 4 connectors and 1 switch.

It belongs with the power & battery, robotics & motion and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

I designed a LFR from scratch including the PCBs for main board and a custom sensor array.

I designed a LFR from scratch including the PCBs for main board and a custom sensor array.

I've decided the components based on affordability, speed, availability and ease of use. Starting with the micro controller I've selected STM 32 BlackPill and for motors I've selected 3000rpm 6v N20 motors with encoders for fast speed to drive these motors I've chosen TB6612FNG motor driver because it has low voltage drop and also it is way lighter than L298N. I've decided to use a 2S Li-Po battery which is about 7.4v which can power the motors with ease and to power STM32 I'd use a step down buck…

PCB: common questions

How big is the PCB?

The PCB measures 110 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PCB?

18 components, from 10 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PCB design files?

From the bsce26023/STM32-LFR repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PCB design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with bsce26023. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
