About the LORA-BOARD

LORA-BOARD is an open source ESP32 PCB design by chendongaoo, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 31.6 × 57.2 mm, with 18 components from 11 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the SX1262IMLTRT and AMS1117-3.3. By type, the board carries 7 capacitors, 4 resistors, 3 ICs, 2 switches, 1 connector and 1 inductor.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

A lora board as a little project which will teach me something about radio stuff

This will help me learn more about radios and also just overall help me to get better at doing pcb design. Pretty cool project!

LORA-BOARD: common questions

What microcontroller does the LORA-BOARD use?

The LORA-BOARD is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the LORA-BOARD?

The LORA-BOARD measures 31.6 × 57.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the LORA-BOARD?

18 components, from 11 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the LORA-BOARD design files?

From the chendongaoo/LORA-BOARD repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the LORA-BOARD design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which chendongaoo chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the LORA-BOARD without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
