I started this project, because I wanted to build fully autonomous ai drone. When I looked at the flight controllers available on the market, they were full of hardware that I just do not need or just that I could not add things that I want (for example the Rasberry pi zero 2w) .

I started this project, because I wanted to build fully autonomous ai drone. When I looked at the flight controllers available on the market, they were full of hardware that I just do not need or just that I could not add things that I want (for example the Rasberry pi zero 2w) . Most boards also waste a lot of space on powering analog OSD chips, which is completely useless for me because I am flying a purely digital HD system like Walksnail Avatar. Because the technology changed and digital is the standard now, I realized it is just a waste of space to keep the analog stuff and massive…

Aero-Zero: common questions

What microcontroller does the Aero-Zero use?

The Aero-Zero is built around the STM32F407RGTX, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Aero-Zero PCB?

The Aero-Zero measures 65 × 40.8 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Aero-Zero?

92 components, from 45 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Aero-Zero design files?

From the ChladpavPy/Aero-Zero repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Aero-Zero design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ChladpavPy. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Aero-Zero without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
