Hi everyone! We recently participated in a three-day hackathon as a team of four members, where we designed a Silicon Monitoring System based on the theme of Mars exploration. I was responsible for designing the PCB for our team. This was my first time fabricating a PCB that I had designed myself, and it was a great learning experience. I’m happy to share that the PCB worked successfully, and we were able to get the expected output during the hackathon.

ESP32 C6: common questions

What microcontroller does the ESP32 C6 use?

The ESP32 C6 is built around the ESP32_C6_1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the ESP32 C6 PCB?

The ESP32 C6 measures 86.1 × 63.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ESP32 C6?

10 components, from 9 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ESP32 C6 design files?

From the Chockalingam-M/PCB-Designing repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ESP32 C6 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Chockalingam-M. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the ESP32 C6 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
