From the project
A wireless FPV control system for RC vehicles featuring real-time video transmission and custom embedded power management. Enables immersive first-person vehicle teleoperation with low-latency wireless architecture.
This project features an RC Car controlled by radio frequency signals and is able to send FPV video feed live to an Oculus Meta headset.
All non-moving pieces are 3D printed, all the electricals are PCB designed, and all instructions are coded into the PCB.
The car is controlled with Double Wishbone suspension and uses Ackermann Steering.
The car uses 3 different voltages, 3.3V, 5V, and 12V:

RC Car Main Onboard: common questions
What microcontroller does the RC Car Main Onboard use?
The RC Car Main Onboard is built around the ESP32-S3-DEVKITC-1U-N8R8, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the RC Car Main Onboard PCB?
The RC Car Main Onboard measures 147.3 × 78.1 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.600198 mm thick.
How many components are on the RC Car Main Onboard?
51 components, from 31 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the RC Car Main Onboard design files?
From the cjg-1/FPV-RC-CAR repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the RC Car Main Onboard design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with cjg-1. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the RC Car Main Onboard without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
