About the ZachsHackpad PCB

ZachsHackpad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by CoderOSSpirit, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 68.4 × 63.2 mm, with 7 components from 4 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the DM-OLED096-636. By type, the board carries 5 switches and 2 ICs.

It belongs with the keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

Included here is both the Schematic and PCB. Both the schematic and PCB were made in KiCad, with footprints from the OPLKiCadLibrary: https://github.com/Seeed-Studio/OPLKicadLibrary/ Additional footprints were found a rotary encoder library: https://kicad.github.io/footprints/Rotary_Encoder and from a 0.91 inch OLED footprint found off of SnapMagic

ZachsHackpad: common questions

What microcontroller does the ZachsHackpad use?

The ZachsHackpad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the ZachsHackpad PCB?

The ZachsHackpad measures 68.4 × 63.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ZachsHackpad?

7 components, from 4 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ZachsHackpad design files?

From the CoderOSSpirit/ZachsHackpad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ZachsHackpad design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which CoderOSSpirit chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the ZachsHackpad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
