From the project

Portable STM32L433 data logger, 50 × 70 mm, four layers, microSD, USB-C LiPo charging. Designed with copperhead. Never built: do not order expecting it to work.

A pocket data logger designed to run for months on one LiPo cell. An STM32L433 records temperature, humidity, pressure and motion to a microSD card, and USB-C charges the cell and shows the card to a PC. 50 × 70 mm, four layers, one button, two LEDs, a Qwiic port for more sensors, no radio.

- Power: a 1S LiPo on a JST-PH connector and a TI BQ24075 power-path charger. A firmware-held latch makes the button a true on/off switch. - USB: USB 2.0 full speed, with ESD protection on the data lines. - Sensors: temperature and humidity (SHT40), pressure (BME280) and an accelerometer (LIS3DH). -…

Copperhead stm32-data logger: common questions

What microcontroller does the Copperhead stm32-data logger use?

The Copperhead stm32-data logger is built around the STM32L433RCT6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Copperhead stm32-data logger PCB?

The Copperhead stm32-data logger measures 50 × 70 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Copperhead stm32-data logger?

84 components, from 47 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Copperhead stm32-data logger design files?

From the copperheadhq/copperhead-stm32-data-logger repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Copperhead stm32-data logger design in my own project?

It is published under Custom license, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Copperhead stm32-data logger without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
