About the Final PCB

Final is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by cshieldsce, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 59.1 × 55.4 mm, with 20 components from 15 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Arduino_Uno_R3_Shield, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the SparkFun OpenLog, LD1117V33 and TMP36. By type, the board carries 4 diodes, 4 resistors, 3 ICs, 3 connectors, 3 capacitors and 1 module.

It belongs with the sensors and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

This phase contains the final custom PCB design for the DemoSat project — a sensor data logging system built around an Arduino Uno (ATmega328P). The board interfaces with multiple sensors, logs data to a microSD card, and provides visual status indicators.

The PCB acts as a shield/carrier board for the Arduino Uno and integrates the following components:

Final: common questions

What microcontroller does the Final use?

The Final is built around the Arduino_Uno_R3_Shield, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Final PCB?

The Final measures 59.1 × 55.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Final?

20 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Final design files?

From the cshieldsce/ENCE_3210_Charlie_Shields_2026 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Final design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with cshieldsce. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Final without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
